STCW 2010 (MANILA AMENDMENTS) - SECURITY COURSES

 

  We are pleased to announce that:

 

- VERITAS Maritime Training Center in Manila, The Philippines and

 

- EPSILON Maritime Training Center in Odessa, Ukraine

 

have been approved by relevant state Administrations to conduct the DESIGNATED SECURITY DUTIES & SHIP SECURITY AWARENESS COURSE.

 

This training course provides to all participants required competencies that shall contribute to the enhancement of maritime security. These competencies include (but are not limited to) heightened awareness, recognition of security threats and the ability to act and react appropriately during their assigned duties under the Ship Security Plan (SSP).

 

The course covers theory and practical exercises on the applicable provisions of the ISPS Code and Chapter XI-2 (Special measures to enhance maritime security) of SOLAS ’74 as amended and meets the requirement of Regulation VI/6 (Mandatory minimum requirements for security-related training and instruction for all seafarers) of the STCW Convention as amended. Furthermore, it covers Section A-VI/6, Paragraph 4-8, Tables A-VI/6-1 and A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Code 2010 Manila Amendments; taking into account the recommendations prescribed in the IMO Model Course 3.26, Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Duties, 2012 edition and IMO Model Course 3.27, Security Awareness Training for all Seafarers, 2012 edition.
